Homo Membership System

To honour our loyal participants (you know who you are!) who attend sessions regularly, we are introducing the Homo Membership System! As you attend more sessions, you will be eligible for more benefits as outlined below. Attendance counts as being fully present in a session for its full 1 hour duration. Once you attend the number of sessions required to ascend a status, you will be notified via email of the new benefits available to you! And what better way than to base the status names off of human species!

Disclaimer: there is still much debate between anthropologists on whether H. sapiens, H. heidelbergensis and H. neanderthalensis count as a single species, Homo sapiens, or as three separate ones. Similarly, some classify H. ergaster, H. habilis and H. rudolfensis as a single species, Homo habilis. For ease of understanding, we have chosen the former option in these cases. Furthermore, we acknowledge that several of our ancestors’ species coexisted on earth and whose lineages do overlap.

We encourage you to explore the fascinating science of human evolution for yourself! As a starting point, please check out National Geographic: Human Evolution 101 and Khan Academy: Homo sapiens and early human migration for some further reading!
